Q: What are printers logo and stationery files?

A: These are the original "softcopy" logo and stationery files that your graphic designer created for you business stationery. These would then have been sent to the printers to produce your business documents. Because they are used for printing they are of a very high quality and are useful as a starting point for our design process. Typically the file names will end in one of these extensions: .eps, .ai, .fh, .psd. We are sometimes able to use .pdf files also.

Q: What are basic headings?

A: The basic headings will dictate the way that the content is delivered to the site visitors. The page headings will also determine the navigation structure of your website (how the users will move around). For example our basic headings are "About Us", "Portfolio", "Resources", "Contact Us", "FAQ" and "Services" as seen along the top of our site. We then have sub-headings such as "Web Design", "Graphic Design" and "Web Hosting", which can be seen to the left.

Q: How should I supply images?

A: You should supply as many images relating to your business as possible. This will enable our design team to select the most suitable images for inclusion in the site. As with the logo files, image resolution should be as high as possible. It is recommended that you send us images on a CD or DVD, rather than via email as file sizes can be large for high resolution pictures. It is also helpful if you provide meaningful file names for the most important images, as this will ensure our designers know exactly which images to include on which page (eg webpagename-imagename.jpg). We are able to work with any image file type.

Q: What is copy text?

A: Copy text refers to the actual words that will be included in your site. This should be supplied to us in electronic format (such as a word document-.doc or a text file-.txt). It should be organised by page heading and should include the file names of any images that will be included on that page.

Q: How should I tell you about features I like?

A: Let us know the website address of the site that you like, clearly explaining what you like about it.

Q: What is resolution?

A: Resolution refers to the clarity and sharpness of an image. For printing files the resolution will be greater than 300 Dots Per Inch (dpi). This is significantly reduced for website images to enable faster downloads.
